Road Conditions (FS 39 to Salt Creek Summit SnoPark)

Note From the Forest Service:

Salt Creek Summit and the 39 Road are plowed in the winter with State Sno Park funds provided from the sale of Sno Park passes. The Forest Service manages the snow plowing through a local contractor.  Because we have a limited number of plows each year, we try to maximize the value of each one as much as possible.  Be aware that you may encounter road conditions and/or snow plows at any time on the road. Please be courteous to the plow operator; he is providing a valuable service.

Road condition 2/15/2012 10:30am.

Salt Cr. Summit has about 7 inches of snow in total on the parking lot. About 3 inches of new on top of what the past weeks snow flurries have accumulated. Recent accumulations have settled and melted somewhat to form a few icey patches and rutted conditions. Travel is not to difficult at this time. We expect a plow on Friday morning unless conditions get more difficult or unsafe.

Road condition 2/2/12 10:00am.

Salt Creek Summit picked up an additional inch on 2/1.  Bryson plowed the road and 1/2 the SnoPark this morning--he'll finish off the rest of the SnoPark tonight or tomorrow morning.  Road conditions include packed snow and ice.

Sweyn--USFS

Road condition 1/31/12 5:00pm.

There is about 6" of snow on the upper 39 road and at Salt Creek Summit.  The 39 road has packed snow and ice on the lower sections.  With additional snow in the forecast, we'll plan on plowing tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning.

Sweyn--USFS
