We spent 3 nights near Fish Lake supporting the ECX Sled Dog Race. Snow down low is a little crusty, but above about 5500 feet it was great skiing. We got about 4 inches of new snow Saturday morning at Fish Lake. On Wednesday we dug a pit on a north aspect slope and noted a weakness about 25 cm from the surface on a layer of small facets. (CTE) Winds were fairly strong out of the south starting on Friday. On Saturday morning snowmobile riders were not able to make the trip from the 39 road to Fish Lake due to extreme drifting on the 66 road near Twin Lakes. Snow depths varied from about 180-210 cm at 6800 ft.
Thanks to the Panhandle Snowmobile club for their generous help and support of the ECX!
